I have been blessed to join the Family of Royals this year. I find myself part of a staff that comes to school every day and works hard for students. There is definitely a strong school spirit at Yorkdale that makes students and staff alike to be proud to Live the Code. Thank you for welcoming me to the Pride! From the beginning of the school year, we have welcomed 12 staff members new to the school or doing a new job within the school!
I am thankful for all of the people, staff and students both, who know what it means to be part of this great school and who can be examples to all of us who are new. This year has been a challenging one, but like all challenges, we have learned from it and have become stronger for it. Our Royal Family remains together, strong and committed to excellent education and experiences for our students. Our students are strong and resilient people who have come through so many challenges.
I would like to thank our community, our SCC, our parents and families for supporting all that goes on in the busy school that we have. We are very excited that things have opened up again and that we are able to get back to normal, although it is a new kind of normal. Athletic teams, performing arts and leadership activities have all been offering our students opportunities to learn and grow as individuals outside of the classroom. We look forward to more excellent activities as Winter turns to Spring.
Students, I wish you an excellent Spring with lots of learning in the classroom and lots of great memories with friends, classmates, and teammates. Take care everyone and be proud to be a Royal!
